In 2017 while taking a break from working a design competitions drawing, I started to doodle on a piece of scrap paper. I joke that I'm an architect that can't draw, and for some reason in college, architectural scale figures eluded me, so I always left them out of sketches. While trying to practice some scale figures to put into the sketch I was currently working on, I decided to draw something else instead, creating architectural scale figures of Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi in a light saber battle.
It is by no means a work of art and I pretty much giggled to myself about it and moved on. About a year later, finding myself with free time now that my exams were complete, I decided to toy with the concept again and started creating "Architectural Stick Figures" of Pop Culture Icons and Characters. Initially they were quick freehand sketches with the absolute minimal amount of information possible, but I as I worked on them I started to develop my own set of rules and how I developed them and eventually went digital using adobe illustrator to redraw, then getting an iPad to be able to draw by hand again. What initially started as quick 1 hour sketches now take anywhere from 5 to 10 hours depending on the number of characters and the amount of detail I show.
